Fee Improvisation Workshop.

Addressed to musicians, composers, and amateurs from all ages.

This workshop focuses on free improvisation, which you could also describe as improvised chamber music or instant composition. It is a collective creative work, depending a lot of the virtuoso hearing and performing capabilities of the participants, their abilities to imagine a form and their willingness to re-invent their instruments in the very moment of creation.

There isn’t a “right” way or a “wrong” way to improvise. We will work from the inner and unique process of each participant, based on his or her own personal, musical, social and cultural history to build a common listening space with self-respect, respect for others, and a sense of responsibility.
We will work with and without instruments, in topics such as space awareness, control/not control, how to own the silence, how to create depth, how to orchestrate, to let go of your ideas, create a narrative direction, create cohesion, master our listening and listen with our whole bodies, take risks and lead without showing but living what we are doing in a non competitive but collective way.

We will be working in solos, duos, trios and big ensembles using also control systems such as graphic scores, game pieces and conductions. Previous knowledge is not required but it is encouraged to be open-minded and ready to learn, and always ready to challenge what you thought you knew.
