Fremor. 2026

Sond/Light Installation

Installed on the façade of the building, Fremor listens to what passes through the structure—from the wind striking the glass to the faint vibrations produced by infrastructures moving beneath its foundations. Using geophones, the installation registers these slow, persistent, low-frequency waves as they travel through the building and translates them into a sustained movement, almost respiratory in rhythm. A series of luminous tubes tremble according to real patterns of structural vibration, in a gesture that is minimal yet continuous.

The title evokes a silent trembling. In this sense, Fremor can be understood as a kind of neologism, naming a condition of the world: a latent oscillation, a shared fragility that affects both living bodies and structures that appear inert. Once this vibration becomes perceptible, even what seems static and monumental begins to reveal its vulnerability.

The installation thus unfolds an ecology of tensions: the subsoil as a sensitive surface, architecture as a living body, the inaudible as a trace suggesting that what sustains us may no longer be apparent stability, but tremor itself. Fremor
