Kerosene. 2017
Solo performance
Custom controllers, Arduino, smartphone, wood, dimmers, custom software
Kerosene is a site-specific audiovisual performance. A light installation composed with more than eighty LEDs, halogen and strobe lights will be placed on the architectural characteristics of the space. The light will be in completely sync with the sound, creating an equal and organic relationship between the visual and the sonic content.
The sound will come both from the performer and the computer. The computer will compose in real time the music through algorithmic techniques in contrast with the live performer, aiming to question the role of automation described in the following section.
The piece pretends to be an immersive experience where the space is shaped and transformed by the sound and lights. In the same time sound travels through space and what actually arrives to our ears is a combination of the sound source and the space it went through. The space, the machine and the performer will become equal actors aiming to communicate and create a deep involvement with the viewers, who are urged to evolve from a condition of mere spectatorship.

Tunnel Ensemble. 2014
Duo performance
Joystick, coil microphone, light sensors, custom controllers, Arduino processor, phone, custom software, acrylic glass, LEDs.
Tunnel Ensemble aims to open up new sound spaces through examining the relations between the saxophone and electronics. The duo was founded in 2013 at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, has played several concerts in Europe and Asia and a live radio concert at the “Art's Birthday 2015” in Antonio Tapies Foundation Barcelona. It won the “1st Prize at the International Contest of Soundart Performance” in Zaragoza 2014 and the “Encouragement Prize” from the Tokyo Experimental Festival 2016.
Tunnel Ensemble sees itself as a band working in a tension of improvisation and research. Peter Breitenbach developed a controller with different sliders and sensors and a custom software. Marc Vilanova explores the most unconventional registers of the instrument, rethinking each sound as a means which is processed.

MUT _Solo Saxophone. 2016.
Solo, acoustic performance.
MUT is a solo acoustic saxophone performance. The project is inspired on the way we listen to language. Not understanding a language enhances sensitivity to the sound of syllables as they are pronounced; as soon as one understands the language, the mind’s focus shifts to decoding meaning.
MUT aims to translate this experience to the saxophone by creating a very unique vocabulary of sounds, some of which are not typically associated with the instrument. The audience as well is not primarily focused on meaning, and therefore free to identify with the imaginative possibilities that nurture the music.

Schnufe. 2018
Duo performance
DMX controllers, LED’s, dimmers, custom controllers, custom softawe.
Schnufe is a piece that deals with gen- der powers and uncover ways of con- trol and manipulation of each other.
In Schnufe we aim to create an inti- mate space with the audience where the performers expose their desire for power and the need for control of the other. Music and movement work in the tension between dictating and re- acting / manipulating and coexisting / leading and revolt. With the use of cus- tom made lighting, sound, live electro- nics and movement the piece was des- cribed as “an energy that transcend any conventional form and lights the most primitive ways of relating to each other”.
Schnufe was created during 2018 with the mentorship of Fred Frith, and it was premiered at Theatre Roxy du- ring the Tanz Fest Basel in May 2018.
